Hey gang,

I’ve put a lot of time into making my first Star Trek Online User generated mission.

If you are playing STO, please check it out and let me know what you think!

Here’s what you need to know –

Project Name: Old Friends in Need

Project ID: ST-HB8ZNYTSB

Author: JasonDLT

Description: One of the most famous ships in StarFleet has gone missing with a special dignatary aboard. With the fate of Vulcan and the Romulan colonies hanging in the balance – find the ship, defeat the Romulan captors and help save some old friends. (Note: Due to EULA restrictions, no TNG characters are actively used in this mission).

Okay, back to my blog post: Indeed, it is a mission that involves the U.S.S. Enterprise-E under the command of one Captain Data. If you’ve been following the Path to 2409, Data was resurrected by the Soong Institute and his memory matrix was applied to B4. Eventually, once they were sure it was Data and there were no malfunctions, Starfleet gave Data his commission back and he took command of the Enterprise from Captain Picard, who became an Ambassador to Vulcan.

Of course, in 2409, the Federation is at war with just about everyone. After the Hobus disaster (seen in the new Star Trek movie), the Alpha Quadrant is in chaos. Sela (the daughter of the alternate timeline Tasha Yar) has become Empress of what’s left of the Romulan Empire.

Ambassador Picard, now in his 100’s, is recalled from his retirement in France to handle a critical attache that could greatly impact the safety of Vulcan and the Romulan colonies. Unfortunately, before he can deliver his attache, the Enterprise-E is intercepted and has gone missing.

That’s where my mission begins…find the Enterprise, defeat the Romulans, save the Ambassador and the ship’s crew! Unfortunately, due to rights restrictions – Picard and Data do not actually appear in the mission. I know, it sucks. In the original draft they did – but EULA restrictions prevent that. They can only be mentioned in text – not actually shown…which is what I did. But we’re allowed to use the heck out of the Enterprise and we took advantage of that.

I think this is fun mission for anyone who loves Star Trek: The Next Generation.
